Record Coverage: 1847–1972
In 1847, preaching services were held in the Fowler School House on Brush Creek (then Franklin Township) until a church was completed. In 1849, the church was built at the intersection of Mount Pleasant and Franklin Roads, where the present Mount Pleasant Cemetery is located. The 60-member congregation named their church Mount Pleasant. In October of 1912, the congregation transferred from the Butler Presbytery to the Allegheny Presbytery. The Mount Pleasant congregation was moved to Marshall Township, Warrendale Area, and the name was changed to the Warrendale United Presbyterian Church. The new church, located at Pleasant Hill Road and Markman Park Road, was dedicated on September 6, 1914. In 1972, Warrendale United Presbyterian Church and Pleasant Hill Church merged to form Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church.
