Before 1870, Presbyterians in Marshall Township held church and Sabbath School services in the the Forsythe (later called Woodpecker) School on
Pleasant Hill Road near Knob Road. In that year a house of worship was built on the northeast corner of the current Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church Cemetery at the intersection of Pleasant Hill and Markman Park Road. Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church was formally organized on July 3, 1876. In 1937 the church was moved across the road. In 1957 the sanctuary was enlarged and a two-level educational wing was added. A dedication service was held on May 26, 1957. In 1972, Warrendale United Presbyterian Church and Pleasant Hill Church merged to form Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church.
