Description

These death registrations result from an act in 1893 requiring assessors of townships, boroughs, and wards to record deaths within their districts (excluding deaths in Pittsburgh, Allegheny City, McKeesport, or Sewickley). This Index includes the deceased’s name, the date and place of death, and the document number. With this document number, you can request a copy of the entire entry page from WPGS.  These four volumes do not include Pittsburgh, Allegheny City, McKeesport, or Sewickley.  Surnames A-F (140 pages), G-Mc (151 pages), ME-SP (125 pages), and SR-Z (76 pages). These records may include the decedent’s age, sex, marital status, occupation, and cause of death. Published by the Western Pennsylvania Genealogical Society.
