Crumrine’s 1882 History of Washington County, Pennsylvania, with Biographical Sketches of many of its Pioneers and Prominent Men. Illustrated. Carefulness, great skill in historical investigation, and enviable talents in composition made this excellent history possible. Boyd Crumine, with the help of several other gentlemen, took painstaking precautions to see that this book was as accurate and complete as possible. They deliberately chose to present original documents, in full or by quotation, rather than to paraphrase their contents in their own language. Very detail-oriented. The contents of this book are intended to portray the development of the countryside alongside its history. It includes portraits and biographical sketches of representative men of each era, as well as illustrations of their homes and surroundings, showing the county as it was when this book was first printed in 1882.
