David R. Grinnell is the volunteer archivist for the Commission on Archives and History of the Western Pennsylvania Conference of the United Methodist Church. However, on a daily basis he can be found as the Coordinator of Archives and Manuscripts at the Archives & Special Collections Department at the University of Pittsburgh Library System – the job that pays the bills! A native of Michigan, David has been a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church and at an early age took a keen interest in Methodist history. When he relocated to Pittsburgh almost 30 years ago – his passion for church history has greatly expanded and has an extensive knowledge of the congregations that dotted Pittsburgh’s urban landscape.
