We all have heard great stories and we all have said: "Why doesn't someone write that down?" Well, you could be the one to do it! Learn more at the WPGS February program.

 

For those of us who write anything at all—whether it is in business or for ourselves, there are a few extra things to keep in mind when writing the story of another. Richard Haverlack, author of Paths of the Heart: Writing Stories Told at Life's End, will share his experiences writing stories and memoirs to help genealogists start crafting the stories of their families.

 

As a volunteer for the Good Samaritan Hospice, Mr. Haverlack works with patients to capture and craft compelling, and sometimes poignant, stories they want to tell others. Some leave these as life stories for their families – legacies for the future. Others take the opportunity to give heartfelt advice, frequently to children or grandchildren, and many simply have delightful stories they want everybody to hear.

 

This WPGS session is free and open to the public, with no registration required.  Please note that this program will be held in the South Wing Reading Room beginning at 10:30 AM, with the doors to the Library opening at 10:00 AM.
