WPGS Virtual Research SIG: Pennsylvania’s 250th Anniversary
Our theme this month is the 250th Anniversary of the State of Pennsylvania within these United States of America in 2026. Pennsylvania was first a Colony before the War for Independence, and many records were created during these early years that can help you to locate your earliest Pennsylvania family members.
New this month are three breakout rooms each designed to focus on an aspect of early Pennsylvania research. There is no need to choose now, but here are the options:
- Room One: Linage societies, with a special focus on the WPGS’ First Families linage society
- Room Two: Pennsylvania Colonial Records
- Room Three: Early Philadelphia passenger records, particularly of German immigrants
We will meet as a large group for 30 minutes before heading to our breakout rooms for approximately 45 minutes. The group will then reconvene for a 15-minute review of the information gained in the breakout rooms.
SIG meetings are open to WPGS members. Please log in to register if you don’t see the registration button.
