Brick Wall Busting Strategies That Led Me To My Black Sheep Ancestor

November 12, 2022 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

What do you do when the trail goes cold on one of your ancestors? Join us as Lisa Kerr Ilowite shares the strategies she used that led her to find  more than she bargained for when researching her “black sheep” ancestor!

Lisa is a research scientist who applies her scientific research skills to genealogy and has been conducting her family history research for more than 25 years.  Her areas of interest include Western PA, Scotland, social history, and Black Sheep ancestors.  She has strong Western PA roots and is originally New Castle. Her father’s ancestors are from the Lawrence County area, and her mother’s ancestors are from the Clarion County area. She’s looking forward to introducing her Black Sheep herd to “my people” at the Western Pennsylvania Genealogical Society.
