Coverage Dates: 1851–1904
In 1852, a group of German immigrants met to form a German Baptist congregation in the South Side of Pittsburgh, which would become the First German Baptist Church. The first church building was erected in 1865 at 10 South 19th Street. The names were changed from First German Baptist Church to Temple Baptist Church in 1918. The new edifice was built in 1919 at Onyx Avenue and Brownsville Road, Mt. Oliver, PA. Most records are written in German.
