Member Annual Meeting & June Program: Researching Your Revolutionary War Family
Please join WPGS for its annual member meeting to elect new board members. The program will start following a very brief business meeting.
In celebration of America 250, “Researching Your Revolutionary War Relatives” will provide an overview of the types of records useful for genealogical research in Pennsylvania during the Revolutionary War-era, and where to find those records today. We’ll discuss the difference between service in a local militia and the Continental Line, and the types of records each generated. We’ll also examine pension application files and bounty land records, focusing especially on the donation and depreciation lands within the bounds of western Pennsylvania.
Board elections will be limited to WPGS members, so please have your member number ready (click here to learn how to find it). The program is open to all. Please click here to register for the meeting and program (same meeting link).
