Photography by Mark Perrott. First Edition, 1990. Every week for four years, Pittsburgh best photographer Mark Parrott performed a little ritual. Upon arriving at the demolition site of Jones & Laughlin still corporations Eliza blast furnaces, he would stop at the fence, take a deep breath, and say aloud to himself you’re entering a graveyard show respect for the dead. Then like an archaeologist at the threshold of an ancient tomb, Perrott slipped through the broken barrier and began his visual “dig.” This 10-page hardbound historical book, with original dustjacket, is full of photographs and reminiscences of its former workers. Good, clean copy. Library donation; never circulated.
