"Jots from the Point" is the newsletter of the Western Pennsylvania Genealogical Society, which has been published since the Society's formation in 1974, ten copies per year. Each issue contains information valuable to genealogists. As the years passed and the number of issues increased, it has become difficult to refer back to items in previous issues.
Thus, this index and article abstracts have been created.
This booklet does not contain records or how to search, but it is a "Who, What, and Where" resource gleaned from the "Jots." Examples would be: Who to write for information, What records are available, and Where records are found. Many valuable tips on the tools of research are included and only relevant materials helpful to researchers have been copied.
The Index was compiled by Jane Gwyer, Jackie Meldrum, and Mary Ellen Sutton. Abstracts of the articles appearing in the "Jots" was done by Elizabeth J. Wall.
This is another helpful tool offered for help in genealogical search in Western Pennsylvania.
