WPGS is proud to announce the Suzanne Johnston Memorial Scholarship. Named for a long-time WPGS board member and volunteer, and genealogical researcher extraordinaire, the scholarship will fund up to $250 toward the cost of attendance at a local, regional, or national genealogy conference.
Suzanne was constantly studying and learning new techniques to further her own research, and this will be a fitting way to honor her memory.
WPGS has already received donations specifically for this scholarship fund, and we are grateful to all of those donors. Additional donations are welcome, and you will be able to donate to the fund by mail or through PayPal on the website, as well as at the time of renewal.
The scholarship will be open to all WPGS members. To be considered, members must write a 150-200 word statement explaining how attendance at the conference they’ve chosen will benefit their personal family history research. Application deadlines and submission instructions for scholarships for 2021 conferences will be announced in a future Jots, along with information on making additional contributions to the fund.
